How it works
Ingredients are what you buy: a litre of vodka, lime juice, chicken portions. A recipe says how much of each ingredient one sold item uses. When that item is sold and the order closes, depletion follows the recipe.
The cost figure follows the ingredient purchase price and the quantities on the recipe. Update the price you pay, or the grams and millilitres on the recipe, and the cost changes with it. Tavio does not invent a margin.
Where this sits in the product
In Office this is Inventory: Products, Ingredients, Recipes, Bundles, and Stock Variance. Products come first. You then link a recipe, a shot, a size, or a weight. Do not mix incompatible modes on one product.
Bundles (a burger and a drink on one line) still need the parts set up, so the kitchen and the stock see the components. Shot pools let several pours share a bottle, which is how a lot of bars actually work.
Step by step is in the inventory handbook.
Plan limits, and what goes wrong
Ingredients, recipes, bundles, and stock variance are on Growth (R1,699 a month, software) and Enterprise (R1,999). Starter (R799) sells products and tracks basic stock. It does not cost recipes.
Stock does not move if the recipe is missing, the order is not closed, or the wrong product was rung. A huge gap versus the shelf is often free pours, the wrong unit, or a delivery that was never received in Tavio. This is not your accounts package. Closed sales can sync to Xero or QuickBooks where those integrations are turned on. That sync is separate from recipe cost.
Prices and what each plan includes are on pricing.
